I’m proud to announce that I’ve invented the worlds first anti-lightning device. Though the discovery came in accidental circumstances similar to Alexander Flemming’s discovery of Penicillin, I still credit myself with this patent. Here’s how it happened… I discovered a pattern during my many travels attempting to capture lightning on film. Once severe electrical storms were intercepted I would begin setting up gear to record nature’s fireworks. More often than not, as soon as I attached my Nikon to the “tripod” all the lightning would stop. I conclude that some kind of mystical thermodynamic reaction takes place inhibiting the imbalance of charge between the Earth and thunderstorm hence defining an anti-lightning device (formerly known as a tripod). Score one more for the USA!
***(IMPORTANT)*** Please remember friends, If you can hear thunder then you’re close enough to get struck by lightning… that’s why i always carry a good set of earplugs when i go out storm chasing.
Below is a sample of lightning I recorded when my new invention was failing.
